John King has been bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the team at Dakota since 2014. A graduate of Armuchee High School, John has a diverse background in various industries, making him a versatile leader in his field.
Before joining Dakota, John served as a Wind Turbine Manufacturing Superintendent, where he oversaw the erection, quality control, shipping, repairs, retrofits, and resurfacing of wind turbines for clients like GE, Nordex, Mitsubishi, Siemens Wind, and more. His career also includes significant roles in retail construction, working with major brands such as Carmax, Circuit City, Reebok, and Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Additionally, John has experience as a Commercial Superintendent, handling medical and industrial projects for clients like FMC, Excel Logistics, and Atlanta Christian College.
At Dakota, John is particularly proud of his role as Lead Superintendent for the massive 80-acre development known as The Works. His work on projects such as 3rd Spot, Havertys Design, Chattahoochee Food Works, multiple parking decks, and numerous remodels within the complex has been instrumental in the success of this ambitious development.
John’s journey to Dakota happened by chance, but it has been a perfect fit. He lives with his wife Linda and their son Dillon, and outside of work, John has been a dedicated fire service veteran since 1991. He currently serves as the Department Chief of his local fire department, a role that reflects his commitment to serving others.
When asked about his experience working under Blake Selig, John appreciates that Blake empowers employees to expand their skillsets and supports field decisions, allowing for professional growth and innovation on the job.
