Phil Gary has been at Dakota since 2021, bringing over 30 years of experience in floor covering and construction to the team. A graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins, Phil’s journey into the construction industry has been one of dedication and perseverance.
Before joining Dakota, Phil built a robust career in the construction industry, where his expertise in floor covering and general construction has been widely recognized. His work ethic and skills have contributed to numerous successful projects, with one of his proudest achievements at Dakota being the completion of Philly Steaks on Glenwood Avenue.
Phil’s path to Dakota was influenced by his wife, who is the office manager at the company. After seven years of expressing interest in becoming a superintendent, a position finally opened, and Phil seized the opportunity. His commitment to the role has been evident since day one.
Phil and his wife have four daughters, aged 29, 24, 23, and 6. Their youngest daughter is also a frequent visitor to the Dakota office, adding a personal touch to Phil’s work environment.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys iRacing, a simulated racing hobby, and hunting. He takes immense pride in being the best husband and dad possible, a life mission that guides him daily. Phil also reflects on his past with pride, knowing that he didn’t let his childhood circumstances define his future.
When asked about his experience working at Dakota, Phil expresses deep gratitude to Blake Selig for giving him a job that he will always appreciate. Phil’s story is one of resilience, determination, and a commitment to family and work.
